The seminal work of Robert Frank, particularly The Americans, ignited my artistic path in my mid-twenties. I was deeply influenced by his approach and that of the "New York School" street photographers of the 1950s, drawn to their ability to capture unscripted moments where formal composition intersected with chance encounters, revealing profound meaning in the everyday. This early fascination with immediacy, symbolic gesture, and the creation of cohesive narratives from disparate observations continues to subtly inform my current artistic practice.

My recent work expands upon this foundation through the integration of complex multi-image compositions and mixed media collages. While the aesthetic has evolved, the underlying impulse to explore themes of irony, Christian concepts of suffering, justice, and sacrifice, and the nuances of contemporary culture remains. Photography, in its capacity to both document and be manipulated, remains my central vehicle for artistic inquiry, a direct lineage from the initial spark ignited by those early encounters.
